Processing Processes and Technologies

BI-ME’s production department is organized to support the manufacture of sheet metal dies, the production of precision mechanical components, and the execution of individual machining operations on customer request.
The experience gained since 1969 and the use of reliable technologies enable the company to handle complex machining operations with consistency, precision, and careful attention to the quality of the final result.

In our production department, we machine hardened steel and carbide, materials frequently used in the manufacture of dies, punches, die plates, and high-strength technical components. The availability of different machines and processes allows us to choose, each time, the most suitable solution according to the part, the required tolerances, and the final application.

CNC Milling

BI-ME carries out CNC milling operations using machinery employed for the production of high-precision components intended for the manufacture of dies, die sets, and custom mechanical parts. This stage makes it possible to achieve accurate and repeatable machining, which is essential to ensuring the quality of the finished product and the correct fitting of components within more complex assemblies.

CNC milling is used both within the production of complete tooling and as a standalone machining service for customers who need a reliable and specialized external partner. In this way, BI-ME can support the customer not only as a die manufacturer, but also as a technical and production partner for specific machine shop requirements.

Surface Grinding

For machining operations that require high dimensional precision and surface quality, we use both manual and CNC grinding machines. Surface grinding is an essential process in the production of precision mechanical parts and components intended for dies, because it allows surfaces and dimensions to be finished with high accuracy.
This technology makes a decisive contribution to meeting design specifications and the final functionality of the machined components. It is a particularly important stage when the customer requires geometrical stability, precise fits, and finishes suitable for industrial applications with demanding technical requirements.

Wire EDM

BI-ME performs wire EDM operations using machines designed to produce complex profiles and parts requiring high precision. This technology is used in the production of components for dies, punches, die plates, and tools, where machining accuracy and process repeatability are crucial factors.
Wire EDM is particularly suitable when part geometries require precise profile control and when the material to be machined calls for processes capable of maintaining reliability and quality. Within our production department, it represents a key complementary process that helps complete the range of services we offer our customers.

Micro-Drilling and Sinker EDM

BI-ME also carries out micro-drilling and sinker EDM operations, two processes that expand the workshop’s capabilities and make it possible to address specific manufacturing requirements. These are specialized machining processes used in the production of technical components and details that require precision and control.
The integration of these technologies makes it possible to manage multiple stages of the production process in-house and to offer the customer a more complete service. This approach improves coordination between machining stages and reduces the critical issues typically associated with processes entrusted to multiple suppliers.

Machined Materials

We machine materials such as hardened steel and carbide, commonly used in the manufacture of sheet metal dies, punches, die plates, and wear-resistant components. Knowledge of materials and their related machining processes is an integral part of how we work and allows us to handle technical requirements with a practical, results-oriented approach.
The combination of experience, correct process selection, and machining control helps us produce components that are consistent with the customer’s application requirements. In this way, BI-ME can handle both complete production projects and targeted machining operations, while maintaining a consistent level of quality.

Quality Control

The quality of the final result is also supported by dimensional inspection and verification activities carried out using high-precision measuring instruments such as height gauges and micrometers. These instruments support the workshop’s operations and make it possible to monitor the conformity of machined parts with the required specifications and tolerances that those parts must meet.
Since 2018, BI-ME has also been certified ISO 9001:2015, confirming the adoption of a quality management system focused on the control of company processes and continuous improvement. This further strengthens the company’s reliability both in die manufacturing and in precision mechanical machining carried out on behalf of third parties.

Technical Support for the Customer

BI-ME provides concrete support for companies looking for a skilled partner in sheet metal die manufacturing, the production of precision mechanical components, or the execution of individual specialized machining operations. Our structure allows us to support the customer through the different stages of the job, with attention to production requirements, execution quality, and operational continuity.

For technical requests, preliminary evaluations, or quotations, BI-ME can be contacted at its headquarters in Via Giorgio Errera 7, 27100 Pavia, or by phone at 0382 570278 and by email at info@bime.pro. A request accompanied by drawings, technical files, and machining specifications allows for a faster and more accurate evaluation.
